John Lovick Thompson, age 64, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 28, 2015, in Costa Rica. John was loved by so many and all are invited to celebrate his life by sharing memories and good times. Visitation and sharing of memories will be Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. John was born June 26, 1951, in Columbus, MS, to the late William Cyrus and Lucy Wasson Thompson He graduated from S. D. Lee High School and was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cy Thompson, and sister, Katherine Griffin. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Sobrado Thompson of Columbus, MS, his wife's son, Rudy Solano of Costa Rica, brother, Joseph W. Thompson of Columbus, MS, sisters, Martha Ann Brisbine and her husband Floyd of Pontotoc, MS, and Willie T. Bell and her husband Bill of Columbus, MS, sister-in-law, Sue Thompson of Columbus, MS, sister-in-law, Lenore Griffin of Ackerman, MS, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
