Fannie Freeman Gerhart, age 93, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 16, 2015, at Windsor Place. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 19, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Shaeffer's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis Bray officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Gerhart was born May 7, 1922, in Columbus, MS, to the late Cylwyn and Hattie Andrews Freeman. She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and worked for Egger's Department Store for many years. Mrs. Gerhart was a lifetime member of Shaeffer's Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse C. Gerhart, son, Celwyn Jesse Gerhart, brothers, Casey Freeman and Curry Freeman, and sisters, Louise Gilliam and Viola Pennington. Survivors include her son, John Gerhart of Columbus, MS, daughter, Marilyn Potter and her husband Lester of Vienna, VA, grandson, Ray Potter of Palo Alto, CA, and great granddaughters, Ava Potter and Jane Potter. Pallbeaers will be men of Shaeffer's Chapel United Methodist Church, Howard Fisackerly, and Newton Guerry.
