Rhena Joan Friloux

Rhena Joan Dowty Friloux, age 82, was taken into God’s loving arms Friday, December 18, 2015, from her home in Columbus . Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Monday, December 21, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Robert Dore, Celebrant and other Catholic priests close to the family as Co-Celebrants. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery . Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.

The daughter of the late Forrest K. and Marie Eschmann Dowty, Mrs. Friloux was born December 5, 1933 in New Orleans , LA. She was a Registered Nurse and was employed by the Lowndes County Health Department as a home health nurse before her retirement. Previously she had been a psychiatric nurse on the Gulf Coast . She was a communicant of Annunciation Catholic Church, a member of the St. Bernadette Bunko Circle , and the Friends and Neighbors Club. She was also a former member of the school board at Annunciation Catholic School . In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband LTC ( Ret , US Army) Louis A. Friloux, Jr. and her brother Forrest Dowty.

She is survived by her sons and daughter Louis A. Friloux, III (Dominique) of Washington, DC; Mark Allen Friloux, M.D. (Susan) of Columbus, David Norman Friloux, DPT (Ellen) and Brian Kent Friloux, M.D., all of Tupelo, and Lisa Friloux, RN of Pass Christian and her sister Kathleen Falgoust ( Rod) of Mandeville, LA . She is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
