ALICE CARR
Alice Thompson Watt Carr, age 76, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 at her residence in Columbus , Mississippi, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Carr was the daughter of the late Dr. James Andrew Watt and Kathleen Chamblee Watt. She was born on May 14, 1939, in Columbus , MS. attended Lee High School and graduated from the MUW with a Bachelors degree in Library Science. She married John (Jack) Buford Carr on June 4, 1960 in Columbus , MS .
Mrs Carr was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Ivy Bible Sunday School Class. She was a life member of the Junior Auxiliary and charter member of the Belle Fleur Garden Club.
Mrs. Carr is survived by her husband, Jack Carr; son, John Buford Carr, Jr. of Columbus, MS.; daughter, Kathy Carr Schoendorf and her husband Mike of Jekyll Island, GA.; grandson James Andrew Schoendorf of Champaign, IL.; twin sister Kay Watt Harris of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law Mamie Carr Taylor of Aberdeen, MS and sister-in-law Sallye Carr Boyde.
Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church , Columbus , MS on Sunday. January 3 rd at 1:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Sunday, January 3 rd at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ann Russell Bradley, Rev. James Carr Robertson, and Rev. Tony Proctor officiating. Inurnment will follow immediately after the service at the Church Columbarium.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Bond, Bobby Caldwell, Billy Coleman, Ed Edmonson, Charlie Ellis, Frank Griffin, Ray Lacey, Ralph McClain, Billy Phillips, Keith Thomas, Robin Weaver and Jimmy Wilder.
