FRANCES DUNCAN

Mrs. Frances Duncan, 89, passed from this earthly life and entered her Heavenly home January 3, 2016. She was a resident of Windsor Place Retirement.

The celebration of life will be Wednesday January 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Harding, and Rev. Mark McNair officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Duncan (Granny) was born April 1, 1926, to the late W.M. Kidd and Annie M. Spruill Kidd. She was a lifelong resident of Caledonia . Over the years she was employed by the Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Bruce Lumber Co., 4-County Electric Power Association, Western Textile and Robinson Grocery. She was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church . She is reunited in heaven with her husband, Avery Duncan, Sr., daughter, Donna Norsworthy, grandson, Ryan Norsworthy, brother, William Maborn Kidd, and sisters, Bessie Mae Vaughn and Annie Ruth Swain.

She is survived by her sons Avery Duncan, Jr. (Diane) and Dale Duncan of Caledonia, daughter Gale Dawkins (Lynn) of Columbus and eight grandchildren: Tara Dawkins Hurt (Ben) and Lance Dawkins (Lora) of Caledonia, Lori Dawkins Story (Jeremy) of Brentwood, TN, Natalie Duncan of Caledonia, Kelly Duncan (Lauren) of Oxford, MS, Casey Duncan of Southaven, MS, Chasity Bowles (Adam) of Lake Lure, NC, and Tyson Norsworthy of Jacksonville, AR, sisters Laurene Robinson and Lucille Vaughn of Caledonia and brother James E. Kidd of Warner Robbins, GA, twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Duncan, Casey Duncan, Lance Dawkins, Jeremy Story, Benny Coleman and Hank Gunter.

Honorary pallbearers will be men of Flint Hill United Methodist Church , Mildred Swartz, Ann & Robert Bowen, Melinda & Jimmy Bowen, Shirley and Tom Grantham, Martha Egger, Wayne Duncan, Wayne Ellis, Jerry Powell, Dale Parra and staff of Windsor 300 hall.
