Elizabeth Reid Wiseman

October 28, 1928 — January 10, 2016

Elizabeth Swoope Reid Wiseman, age 87, of West Point, MS, passed away
January 10, 2016, at Waverly Care Home of West Point.  Funeral services will
be Wednesday, January 13, 2016 , at 11:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with
Rev. Brandon Bates officiating and Rev. Steve Davis assisting.  The
interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery.  Visitation will
be Wednesday, January 13, 2016 , one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Wiseman was born October 28, 1928, in Columbus, MS, to the late
Lafayette Fearn and Carrie Prowell Swoope.  She was a graduate of S. D. Lee
High School and attended MSCW for two years.  Mrs. Wiseman was a longtime
resident of Kosciusko, MS, where she was an active member and volunteer of
First United Methodist Church.  She was a current member of the First
Presbyterian Church of West Point, and in addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husbands, G. W. Reid, Jr. and Robert Wiseman,
brother, James Prowell Swoope, and sister, Celeste Swoope Williams.
Survivors include her son, Gib Reid and his wife Ann of Columbus, MS,
daughter, Tina Janssens and her husband John of Swan Marsh, Australia,
stepson, Dr. Marty Wiseman and his wife Bonnie of Starkville, MS, brothers,
L. F. "Teeny" Swoope and his wife Nancy of Sulphur, LA, Thomas K. "Dake"
Swoope and his wife Allene of Columbus, MS, William M. "Brother" Swoope
and his wife Willetta of Starkville, MS, Edward A. Swoope of West Point, MS, Frank G. Swoope and his wife Carolyn of Columbus, MS, Warren D. "Oop" Swoope and his wife Jan of Columbus, MS, Walter W. "Penny" Swoope and his wife Betty of Paducah, KY, Charles M. Swoope and his wife Shirley of Columbus, MS, and Burton C. Swoope and his wife Tanya of Biloxi, MS, sisters, Eleanor Swoope Hairston and her husband Nick of Columbus, MS, and
Lucy Swoope "Boopie" Beard and her husband David of Jackson, MS,  grandchildren, Amy Wilkerson and her husband Phil, Matthew Janssens, and Rebecca Janssens, great granddaughter, Quinn Wilkerson, and step grandchildren, Parker Wiseman, Kelly W.Scezepanski, D'Von Goodloe, Jennifer Flanagan, and Scott Dickerson.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
