Janet Woodruff

Janet Fischer Woodruff, age 82, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016, in Columbus , Mississippi . Services will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 11:00 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Brad Lessman officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery . Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Wednesday, January 20, 2016, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Mrs. Woodruff was born on August 5, 1933, in Baltimore , Maryland , to the late Thomas Newton and Minnie Kemler Fischer. She was retired from Mississippi University for Women where she worked many years with her “W” family.

She was a faithful member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she served in many capacities. She was also a member of the Baptist Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and loved her Ole Miss Rebels.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Neil Woodruff, Sr., her grandson Warren Latimer, brother George Fischer, and sister Dot Markowski.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas Fisher, Jr., Baltimore , MD.

She was a loving Mother to her children
