Lydia Louise Davis

Lydia Louise Stringer Davis , age 77, of Columbus , died Friday, January 22, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM. Services will be Monday, January 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Brydon Manning officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery .

The daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Hannah Noreen Nelson Stringer, Mrs. Davis was born March 29, 1938 in Cochise County , AZ. She had been a resident of Lowndes County since 1960. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served as the custodian and was past director of Genealogy for the church. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Shelton Lee Davis.

She is survived by her sons Shelton Lee Davis, II (Brenda) of Greensburg , KY and John William Davis (Margaret) of Columbus and her daughters Genia Louise Edmonds (Tom) of Franklin, NC, Elizabeth Ann Grindstaff ( John) of TX and Betty Bealis (Joseph) of Noxapater, MS; a brother Price Wesley Stringer of Everett, WA and her sister Hannah Adlee Aycock of Clearfield, UT and her sisters-in-law Kathryn Coulter of Las Vegas, NV and Julia Davis of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
