Jimmie Sue Denton Winstead, age 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away February 21, 2016, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be

at Artesia Baptist Church with Rev. Regan Rye and Rev. Jeff Morgan officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Garden Park in Oktibbeha County, MS. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Winstead was born May 27, 1936, in Oxford, MS, to the late Ray and Vivian Reaves Denton. She was a graduate of University High School of Oxford and has been a resident of Artesia, MS, and Lowndes County since 1962. Mrs. Winstead formerly owned and operated B & M Restaurant of Artesia where she was known for her hushpuppies. She attended Artesia Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Don Winstead of Columbus, MS, daughters, Debbie Gibson and her husband Gip of Artesia, MS, Anita Phillips and her husband Timmy of Wynne, AR, and Lisa Jeffcoat and her husband Gerry of Columbus, MS, sons, Mark Winstead and his wife Lisa of Columbus, MS, and Jason Winstead and his wife Sonja of Center, AL, brothers, Morris Denton and his wife Carolyn of Brevard, NC, and Bill Denton and his wife Linda of Biloxi, MS, sister, Mary Moreland of West Point, MS, grandchildren, Kristin Davis and her husband Glen, Wesley Gibson, Blake Ballard, Courtney Winstead, Haley Winstead, Madeline Winstead, Hayes Winstead, and Reese Winstead, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Gibson, Blake Ballard, Mark Winstead, Jason Winstead, William Maxey, Mark Boland, and David Gray.
