Mary Elizabeth Gran
November 16, 1933 — March 4, 2016
March 4, 2016, at her residence. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March
9, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Beam
officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of
Columbus. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016 , from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at
Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Gran was born November 16, 1933, in Adams, NE, to the late John
and Minnie Kerns Hietbrink. She was a graduate of Basic High School of
Henderson, NV, where she was salutatorian of her class. Mrs. Gran taught
Sunday School for many years at various churches and also was a member and volunteer for Girl Scouts. She worked as a secretary for many years and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Women's Sorority.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Eric Gran of Columbus, MS,
daughters, Bonnie Reed and her husband Neil of Dennison, TX, and Katherine
Gran of Corinth, MS, brother, Richard Hietbrink of Henderson, NV,
grandchildren, Greg Buskirk and Clint Buskirk, and 7 great grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
