Lucille Frye Slaughter, age 93, of Columbus, MS, formerly of San Antonio, TX, passed away March 18, 2016, at her residence. Funeral services will be

at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Gardner officiating. The interment will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Slaughter was born August 10, 1922, in Sulligent, AL, to the late Ben and Bessie McGee Frye. She worked and retired as a waitress for 73 years, having worked most of her career on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. Mrs. Slaughter was Christian and attended the Columbus Christian Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Frank Slaughter, brothers, Denver "Bud" Frye, Loy Frye and his wife Maxine, Roy Frye, and Ernest Frye, and sister, Lois "Pat" Cox.
Survivors include her brothers, James Frye and his wife Amy of Columbus, MS, and Bill Frye and his wife Kim of Columbus, MS, sisters, Dean Shaw and her husband G. B. of Columbus, MS, Ruby Arnold and her husband Charles of Columbus, MS, and Lois Stephenson and her husband Larry of Hoaks Bluff, AL, and loving caregiver, Barbara Melton.
Pallbearers will be Charles Arnold, Jr., Kenny Frye, Billy Wayne Frye, Kenny Shaw, and Gary Shaw.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
