James Earl Strickland
February 4, 1935 — March 22, 2016
Mr. Strickland was born February 4, 1935, in Columbus, MS, to the late Fred Strickland and Velma Wooldridge. He was a lifelong resident of Columbus and veteran of Korea serving in the United States Air Force. Mr. Strickland worked for many years as a painter and enjoyed yard work and his pets. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bud Strickland, and Jessie Wooldridge, and sisters, Mickie Weathers, Annette Ross and Kay Langford Wilcox.
Survivors include his son, Danny Hanson of Columbus, MS, sister, Robin Elmore of Columbus, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
