Lois Killough Mishler
Lois Killough Mishler passed away on March 23, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus , MS . She was 89 years old. Services will be held at First Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 26, with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating; burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus . Visitation will be held Friday from 5 until 7 at Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mishler was born on February 10, 1927, in DeKalb , MS , to the late Luther Starlen and Mattie Smith Wilson. She lived in Columbus her entire adult life.
Mrs. Mishler was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church where she taught the four year olds for 15 years. She was also active in the Woman’s Missionary Union and her Sunday School Class and participated in several prayer groups.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mishler was preceded in death by her husbands Clay C. Killough and Robert “Bob” Mishler, her sister, Dariee Wilson Miles, and her brother Paul Wilson.
She is survived by two daughters, Tricia Geno (Alton ) of Covington , LA and Kathy Stampley (Dean) of Huntsville , AL , and a son, Michael Killough (Linda) of Prescott , AZ.
Mrs. Mishler is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Haley Stampley Chapin (Chris) and Alex Stampley (Anna) of
Huntsville
,
AL
, and a week-old great-grandaughter, Della Chapin, whom she had not yet met.
Her Brother, Starlen Wilson (Esther), De Kalb, MS
Mrs. Mishler’s nephews, Marcus Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Lowell Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, Stephen Wilson, and Jeffrey Wilson, served as her pallbearers.
“Miss Lois” also leaves behind many cherished friends. Those who knew her well (and there were many) will remember her for her two great passions, the Bible and music, and for her kind and generous spirit.
