Becky Williams

Rebecca (Becky) Jo Williams, age 60, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at her home in Columbus , MS of natural causes. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 2 from 10 - 12 am at Memorial Funeral Home, downtown Columbus , MS , followed by a funeral procession to Friendship Cemetery where a graveside service will be held with Reverend Thomas M. Bryson officiating. Becky was born on May 4, 1955 to Emma Shipman Williams and the late Howard Trusler Williams. Becky attended Lee High School in Columbus and Mississippi State University where she earned a Bachelor and Masters degrees. But she considered her biggest accomplishment and greatest blessings in life were her four sons and her four grandchildren. Her spirit and love will be carried on by them. Becky is known for her beautiful heart and extreme love for all. She was an avid knitter and seamstress. She was happiest with one of her cats nestled in her lap while knitting and watching a movie. Survivors include: Mother: Emma Shipman Williams, Columbus , MS , Sister: Jane Williams Cox, Sons: Rollin Sloan (Spring Barber), Shipman Sloan (Anna Kathryn Hill), Spencer Sloan, and Crofton Sloan III. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Lucas and Lawson Sloan and Lillie and Julie Sloan. She is also survived by a loving extended family and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten. All who have known her have truly been blessed. Please hold her close in your heart and your spirit.
