MAVIS CROCKER

Emma Mavis Crocker age 89 died Tuesday, April 05, 2016 at Trinity Healthcare Center in Columbus . Services will be held Friday, April 08, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Yarber officiating, burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery . Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crocker was born on Monday, January 31, 1927 in Pickens County , AL to the late Earney and Mattie Pate. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church , and a former member of Artesia Baptist Church . Her time was blessed by being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cooking, gardening, quilting, crappie fishing, and camping. She spent many happy days camping with family and friends, and traveling the country.

She was a longtime member of Artesia Baptist Church where she served the Lord by teaching Sunday School, and would serve willingly in any capacity where there was a need. She always kept her faith in the most difficult of times.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Leo Crocker, her sons, David Winston Crocker, Royce Edward Crocker, a daughter Glenda Wade, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers.

She was also blessed with 3 grandchildren:

Kim Vaughn (Jim Buck), Steens, MS Kristi Maggard (Adam), Stillwater , OK

David Crocker (Tamron), Columbus , MS

One great grandchild:

Garrett Vaughn,

And a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers Hubert Guy, Hillary Guy, Jerry Jarrell, Mike Bateman, Keith Fortenberry, and Mark Bolin

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Michael Duckworth, Dr. Matt Williams, Dr Hall, Dr. Macias, Eddie Heflin, Tommy Temple, and Rev. Reagan Rye
