CLINTON PARRISH

Mr. Clinton E. Parrish, age 90, died Friday, May 6, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital/GT. Services are 2:00 PM, Monday, May 9, 2016 at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with Military Honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home.

Mr. Parrish was born August 28, 1925 in Eupora, MS to the late Hally S. and Lera Adele Tharp Parrish. He retired from the Air Force with 20 years of service. He was also employed as a civil service employee for 20 years and 9 months and retired as a air condition and refrigeration mechanic. He was a very talented muscian who played all string instruments as well as the piano. He had his own band everywhere he went while traveling in the military. Mr. Parrish has written approximately 100 songs, many of them gospel and country songs. He was a former member of the writer's association from Nashville, TN. Mr. Parrish was a member of the Church of God of Columbus and a minister of the gospel for many years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Salers Parrish and second wife, Dissie Bradford Parrish as well as 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Carr Parrish of Columbus, MS; his sons, Larry W. Parrish (Linda) of Kansas City, MO; Larry Bradford (Dena) of Columbus, MS; daughters, Judy Bradford Lofton (Cecil) of Kennedy, AL; Ramona Carr Faber (James) of Keller, TX and Claire Carr Jolly (Jeff) of Tyler TX; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren,

Pallbearers will be Brad Lofton, Wesley Lofton, Clinton Blake Bradford, Keith Parrish, Joe Fuller and Cecil Lofton. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Maynard, Gerald Scallions, Larry Valentine, Ken Linton, John Musa, Jeanette Hill, Michelle Crawford, Larry Clemons and residents of Trinity.
