Frances Elizabeth Burks

Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Miller Burks, age 90, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital/GT. Funeral services for Mrs. Burks will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 21, 2016 at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jearl Hunley and Rev. Luke Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery . Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Friday, May 20, 2016 at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home and then one hour prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Burks was born October 30, 1925 in Monroe County , MS to the late Tallie Goodbar and Mary Reese Nichols Miller. She graduated from Aberdeen High School and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Earl B. Burks, her son; Kerry L. Burks, brothers; T.A. Miller, George Miller, Harry Miller, Marvin Miller and sisters, Annie Wilma Sanders and Marlyn Lee.

Survivors include her sons, Earl B. Burks, Jr. and Mike Burks both of Columbus , MS ; daughters, Diane Lawrence and Debbie Burks both of Columbus , MS ; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Andy Lawrence, Randy Lawrence, Mason DeOrnellis, Noah Lawrence, Robert Cooper, Ricky Mordecai, Dusty Lee and Barry Lee.
