Gregory Keith Oaks

December 23, 1976 - July 20, 2016

Gregory Keith Oaks, age 39, of Columbus died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Starkville Manor in Starkville, MS.  Funeral arrangements have been  entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home.  Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Proctor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Raigan Miskelly and Rev. Anne Russell Bradley. Interment will immediately follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Millport, AL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

The son of W.R. Oaks and the late Shelby Hitt Oaks, Keith was born December 23, 1976 in Columbus.  He was a 1994 graduate of East Webster High School in Mathiston, MS. He was formerly employed at Old Navy in Columbus.  He was also a member of the North MS Emmaus Community. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his sister Tammy Oaks Riley.

He is survived by his father W.R. “Bob” Oaks and Bob’s fiancé Willodean Atkins and her family. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Dr. Pam Oaks Sykes and Greg Sykes and brother-in-law Pete Riley, a niece Sarah Katherine Sykes and four nephews Matt and Hunter Sykes and Tyler (Carlee) and Sam Riley.

Pallbearers will be Greg Sykes, Matt Sykes, Hunter Sykes, Pete Riley, Tyler Riley and Sam Riley. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Old Navy.

His family would like to thank Legacy Hospice and the staff of Starkville Manor for their loving and wonderful care during his lengthy illness
