Elowese Decker

October 12, 1936 — August 6, 2016

Mrs. Elowese Dawkins Decker, age 79, died Saturday, August 6, 2016 at her home West Point, MS. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service, with Rev. Jim Sallee officiating, will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the home place in Clay County, MS.

The daughter of the late William J. and Irene Atkins Dawkins, Mrs. Decker was born October 12, 1936 in Millport, Al.  She attended the Church of Christ in West Point and was active at one time in the Union Star Volunteer Fire Department.  She was formerly employed as a Supervisor at Blazon in West Point.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by six of her brothers William, Jr., Jack, Hollis, Leman, Clyde and Joe Dawkins, her sisters Lois Hedge, Mildred Rosella and Hazel Stanley and her husband Albert Eugene “Gene” Decker, II.

Mrs. Decker is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mille and Donnie Walker, and sons and daughters-in-law Billy Eugene and Frances Decker and Albert Eugene, III and Wendy Decker, all of West Point, MS, brothers and sisters-in-law Doug and Brenda Dawkins and Lynn and Gail Dawkins, all of Columbus, sisters-in-law Doris Decker, Betty Dawkins and Edna Dawkins and special friend Linda Milner. She is also survived by grandsons Chris Blakeney, Tyrail Blakeney and granddaughters Teena Daniels (Denny) Elizabeth Cowart, Macy Decker and Elle Decker,  great grandsons  Mikie Blakeney, Ely Blakeney, Ty Michael Blakeney, Brandon Webb, and Luke Cowart and great granddaughters Lilah Blakeney, Ashtyn Young, Mikela Young and Lindsey Daniels and a number of nieces and nephews.
