AVLEE RYE SOBLEY

Avlee Rye Sobley passed away peacefully on August 9, 2016 at Trinity Personal Care. Services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jimmy Ray officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery .

Mrs. Sobley was born in Marion County Alabama to the late Marion J. Rye and Victoria Northington Rye. She live most of her 98 years in Columbus and Lowndes County , MS . She dearly loved fishing on the Tombigbee River , but most of all she loved her family. She was affectionately known to those who loved her as Maw Maw. She considered her sons as her greatest accomplishments in life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sobley is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Albert Sobley; two sons, Jimmy Dale Sobley and Richard Morris Sobley; five brothers, John T. Rye, Largus Rye, Brice Rye, Bradley Rye and four sisters, Minnie Sizemore, Vera McManus, Otha Lee Hall, Mary Lee Sheffield Christian and Rubel Swartz.

She is survived by sons Charles L. Sobley (Jean), George M. Sobley (Linda) and Mitchell D. Sobley (Susan) all of Columbus , MS ; grandchildren Mark Sobley, Indianapolis , IN , Jacqueline Allbritton (Lori), Orlando , FL , Brandy Abruzzo (Tom), Nashville , TN , Kim Hunt (Greg), Southaven , MS , Jonathan Sobley and Michelle Sobley, Columbus , MS ; great-grandchildren Addison Abruzzo, Thomas Abruzzo, Emily Grace Hunt, Chance Hunt and Nash Hunt; sister-in- law Nadine Gates of Columbus and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mark Sobley, Tom Abruzzo, Greg Hunt, Jimmy Nabors, Jimmy Williams, Russell Sheffield, Robbie Wilson, and Phillip Livingston. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Trinity Personal Care and Camellia Home Hospice. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
