Michael George Stacy

Michael George “Mike” Stacy, 60, of Columbus , MS passed away peacefully Saturday, August 13, 2016 surrounded by his family. Mike was born March 20, 1956 to the late J.W. Stacy, Jr. of Columbus , MS and Freda Pullen Stacy of Gordo , AL .

Mike was passionate about his work and held employment at the Columbus Light and Water Department from September 15, 1975, until he retired after 40 years of service on December 31, 2015 as the Water Distribution Supervisor. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He also enjoyed participating in grilling competitions with his son and grandson His favorite competition was the Roast and Boast (Pig Fest) in Columbus , MS .

Mike was extremely loving and proud of his son Jay Stacy and his wife Carrie and their children Cade, Reece, Emery, and Amanda B. and his daughter Kallie Phillips and her husband Stuart and their children Arthur and Axel. Mike is also survived by his Mother Freda Pullen Stacy of Gordo , AL and his sister Gayla Stacy Godfrey of Columbus , MS ; as well as many loving Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 17, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus , MS. Mike’s service will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus , MS with Rev. Grant Mitchell officiating. The burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery .

The pallbearers will be Todd Gale, Matt Wade, Roger Duncan, Ladd Coleman, Randy Stacy, and Tim Faulkner.
