Floyie Lee Shepherd

Floyie Lee Shepherd age 85 died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her residence in Steens MS. Services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Myers, Rev. Mel Howton, and Rev. Kent Shepherd officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Monday August 15, 2016 from 6:00 PM til 8:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shepherd was born on Monday, March 02, 1931 in MS to the late Elex Abraham and Livie Mae Robertson Tribble. She was a lifetime member of New Salem Baptist Church , where she enjoyed the activities with the senior adults. She was a graduate of Greenwood Springs High School in Greenwood Springs , MS . She was a former teacher assistant in the Caledonia School System and a former employee of McCoy Manufacturing, and retired from the Mississippi Medicaid Office. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed making Cabbage Patch Dolls for her granddaughters. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elsie Mae Cherry, Eudocia Tribble, Mary Ann Dunn, Lena Lorene Perry, Eloise Carwyle, and Bobbie Adams, her brothers, John, Harold, Jim, Elroy, Sammie, Foster, Elex, Jr., Dee , infant brother Tribble, and her great granddaughter, Aviendha Violet Hannah.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years Maurice Clay Shepherd, Steens, MS, daughter Gloria Brown (James), Steens, MS, sons Lester Shepherd (Cheryl), Caledonia , MS, and Chester Shepherd (Emily), Vernon , A. She is also survived by her grandchildren Anthony Brown (Andrea), Morgan Egger (Matt), Austin Shepherd (Jessie), Sydney Hannah (Sean), Chad Shepherd and Tanya Woods and her great-grandchildren Trenton and Zachary Brown, Jaiden and Layla Egger , Thane and Griffin Shepherd, Alexander Hannah, Edison Hannah, Irene Hannah, Peyton Woods, Hayley Woods,and Jacie Stewart, and her Caregiver Jackie Ali and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Anthony Brown, Austin Shepherd , Chad Shepherd, Danny Shepherd, Dennis Lollar, Kenneth Pounders, Jeff Shepherd, and Matt Egger.
