Juanita "Nita" Harrison Brown age 91, died August 25, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital . Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anne Russell Bradley officiating , with interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery . Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Memoiral Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown was born June 3, 1925 in Lowndes County , MS to the late Kenneth J. Harrison, Sr. and Ora Morris Harrison. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Pilot Club of Columbus and bookkeeper for Cole Refrigeration for 42 years. In additon to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Brown, Sr.; step son, James B. Brown, Jr.; brothers, Kenneth Harrison, Jr. and Arthur Harrison; and sister Frances Harrison Stokes.
Nita is survived by her sister, Geonette Harrison Pendley of West Point , MS and 2 nephews, 3 nieces, 1 great nephew, 3 great nieces and 2 great great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Harrison, Kenneth Stokes, Ben Thomas, Jack McGee, Reid Nevins, Nicholas Watkins and Joe Askew.
