Sherril Elizabeth Caudillo

December 17, 1950 - August 28, 2016

Sherril Elizabeth Shumpert Caudillo, age 65 , of Olive Branch, MS, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis, TN. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  Services will be Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Gunter & Peel Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Sanderson officiating, and burial immediately following in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday night from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.

The daughter of the late Murrel Daniel and Margaret Faye Crawford Shumpert, Mrs. Caudillo was born December 17, 1950 in Columbus, MS. In 1979 she met her future husband Michael Joseph Caudillo in North Platte, NE, and they were married in Memphis, TN in 1984.

During her life, Sherril lived in California, Nebraska and Mississippi, and lived life to the fullest. She and her brother Mike, who lives in North Platte, NE, read and studied the Bible on the telephone whenever they talked. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren so very much.  Sherril was there to help anyone in need, and she had a kind word for everyone whom she met .She was a wonderful person, full of joy and love, and she will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Jim and Greg Shumpert, sisters Sandra Faye Callahan and Margaret Diane Webster and her youngest son Steven, with whom she is now walking the streets of Heaven.

Mrs. Caudillo is survived by her  husband  Michael Joseph Caudillo of Olive Branch, MS, her sons Scott Peyton of Illinois, Brian Arriola of Ogalllala, NE and Anthony Arriola of NE , her much-loved brothers and sister-in-law Dan Shumpert of Olive Branch, MS and Mike and Patty  Shumpert of North Platte, NE, as well as many other family members and Friends.
