Miss Junkin was born March 24, 1955, in Columbus, MS, to the late Bura Clinton and Mary Allan "Mott" Browning Junkin. At a young age, Nancy was diagnosed as having special needs and cerebral palsy. Although she never spoke verbally, she communicated with her smoky blue eyes and laughter. Nancy's needs were met in the family home in New Hope for many years. As her parents aged, the decision was made after many prayers to place her in the Choctaw Nursing Center in Ackerman, MS, on November 11, 2003. The staff provided loving care for "Miss Nancy".
Nancy is survived by one brother, Richard Junkin and his wife Deborah of Columbus, MS, sisters, Olivia Sansing and her husband David of Columbus, MS, Robin Minton and her husband Roger of Reform, AL, and Renee Spinks and her husband Jim of Florence, AL, nieces and nephews, Danielle (Timothy) Jaynes, Penny (John) Mansell, Brad (Brooke) Minton, Josh (Britney) Sansing, Alexa Junkin, Andrew Junkin, and Tayor Spinks, great nieces and nephews, Libby Jaynes, Millie Jaynes, Swayze Sansing, Harper Minton, Arleigh Mansell, Henry Minton, and John David Mansell, aunts, Bettye (Robert Lee) Loftis, and Elizabeth Browning, and a host of cousins.
Pallbearers will be Brad Minton, Josh Sansing, Andrew Junkin, Taylor Spinks, Timothy Jaynes, and John Mansell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Minton, John David Mansell, Dixie Jackson, Mariah Johnson, and the staff of Choctaw Nursing Center.
