Annie Doris Pitre

Annie Doris Scallions Pitre, age 75, died Thursday, September 22, 2016 at her home in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, September 23, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the chapel of Gunter & Peel Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Guy officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Joe Henry Scallions and Elizabeth Edwards Scallions Byrd, Mrs. Pitre was born October 18, 1940 in Kosciusko, MS. She was a1958 graduate of S.D. Lee Senior High School in Columbus and attended the Macon Pentecostal Church. She was predeceased by her parents, her step-father John B. Byrd, a sister Mary Jane Scallions, a brother Joe Henry Scallions, Jr., two grandchildren Joshua Derise and Rachael Derise and her husband Leon Pitre, Jr.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Virginia Pitre of Macon and her daughters Ivy Jean Pitre and Sandra Pitre, both of Columbus, her brothers and sister-in-law Gerald and Alice Scallions of Columbus and Robert Frank Scallions of Picayune, and her step-brother and step sister-in-law Ronnie Gene and Linda Byrd of Hamilton, AL. She is also survived by her grandchildren Amanda Pitre Guy (Brad), Melinda Pitre Heard (Brandon), Danielle Pitre, John Leon Pitre, Sr. (Nicole) and Jordan Derise (Hannah) and her great grandchildren Taylor, Brennan and Spencer Guy, Jack, Ava and Tara Heard, and John and Aurora Pitre .
