Christa Bowers

Mrs. Christa P. Bowers, age 90, formerly of Columbus, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Tanglewood Assisted Living in Dawsonville, GA .Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with Bishop Eric Smith, officiating. Visitation, starting at 10:00 AM, will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow in Friendship Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Albert and Antonie Piosek, Mrs. Bowers was born December 13, 1925 in Germany and came to the United States in 1948. She resided in Columbus for 40 years, before moving to Dawsonville, GA in 2002. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Roy’s Kitchen in Columbus for many years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dahlonega Ward, in Dawsonville and had served twice as President of the Relief Society. Christa possessed a very positive attitude and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Roy Jackson Bowers.

Mrs. Bowers is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Sid Dewberry and her son and daughter-in-law Roy A. and Sherie Bowers, all of Dawsonville, GA, three grandsons and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bowers, Scott Bowers, Jared Schrum, Jimmy Bourland and Roy Bowers.
