YOSHIKO PRICE Yoshiko Miyawaki Price "Yoshi", age 92, of Columbus , MS , passed away peacefully October 9, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital surrounded by those she loved the most. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with Trey Skaggs officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus . Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church . Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Price was born January 26, 1924, in Kagoshima , Japan , to the late Masahiro and Husako Miyawaki. After WWII she began working at the Naval Base in Sasbo Japan , where she met the love of her life, Charles R. Price, a sailor from the U. S. Navy. In 1958 they moved to the bay area of California where Charles completed his military service. After several years and two beautiful children later they returned to Charles' hometown of Columbus, MS. Yoshi was a traditional Japanese wife and mother. That is to say that she doted on her husband and showered her children with love. As her family grew so did her commitment to creating an environment where we cherished Sunday dinners, days spent cruising on the houseboat, and rowdy family game nights. She was our sun. All who knew her found a warm place in her presence. In addition to her parents, Yoshi was preceded in death by her siblings, Tazuko Imata, Hiroshi Miyawaki, and Shigeko Meguri.

Survivors include her daughter Amy Ellis and her husband Leon, son, Rick Price and his wife Mary, all of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Karen Wright Murratti, Toni Wright Smith, Amber Price, Tim Adkins, Charlie Price, and Nicholas Ellis, six great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild, and siblings, Hitoshi Miyawaki, Shigeko Meguri, Michiko Miyawaki, Tamiko Miyawaki, and Hiroko Miyawaki.

Pallbearers will be Rick Price, Amy Ellis, Leon Ellis, Nicholas Ellis, Charlie Price, and Tim Adkins.
