Frances Virginia Rector

October 26, 2016 , at Trinity Healthcare. Funeral services will be Friday,
October 28, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Sammy
Crawford officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Piney Grove
Cemetery in Steens, MS. Visitatioin will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Rector was born March 4, 1929, in Columbus, MS, to the late Jesse
Clarence and Alice Green Atkins. She worked for many years at Columbus
Hospital, Commercial Dispatch, and Maxxim Medical and was a member of
Fairview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her brothers, Jesse Atkins and James Atkins, and sisters, Mary
Nadeau and Ruby McCown.
Survivors include her son, Stan Rector and his wife Lisa of Columbus,
MS, daughter, Gwen Gaston and her husband Bob of Memphis, TN, sisters, Opal
Wallace of Houston, TX, Elizabeth Perkins of Birmingham, AL, and Linda
Traylor of McComb, MS, grandchildren, Hayes Rector and Amber Brazil, and
great grandchildren, Hayes Rector and Amber Brazil.
Pallbearers will be Bob Gaston, Greg Noland, Hayes Rector, Dennis
McCown, Chris Crawley, and Cole Brazil.
