Gracie Mae Lemonds

Mrs. Gracie Mae McGee  Lemonds, age 83, died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Trinity HealthCare in Columbus. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Jaron Andrews officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM.

The daughter of the late Chester White and Ethel Clemmons  McGee, Mrs. Lemonds was born February 26, 1933 in Reed, MS. Her first employer was South Central Bell , working as an telephone operator in Memphis, TN. A longtime resident of Columbus, she retired from United Technologies after twenty tears of employment. A member of McBee Baptist Church, she also proudly served as a pastor's wife, assisting her husband  in his twenty-eight years of ministry to New Bethel Baptist Church in Noxubee County. She was predeceased by her son Terry Wilbanks, her sister Lavinia Anne McGee her  brothers Charlie White McGee, Billy Gene McGee, and  John William McGee  and her husband William W. Lemonds.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law William W. "Chip"  Lemonds, Jr. and Amy, her   brother Wayne McGee ( Louise), Houston, MS, sisters Faye Jackson ( Kenny) , Houston, MS, Sue Parson ( Jerry) , Burnsville, MS, Katherine Nelms ( Thomas) , Olive Branch, MS, Marlene Ware, Anchorage, AK, and Patsy Moore, Houston, MS. She is also survived by  her grandchildren Valarie Lemonds, Jay Lemonds, Mary Katelyn Lemonds , Allison Elizabeth Lemonds  and Melanie Hester Harbin and three great grandchildren Caris, Braden and Lucy Lemonds.


Pallbearers will be Paul Moore, Gunner Moore, Draven Moore, Jerry Dean " Bo " Ware, Clayton Shempert and Kevin Griffin.  Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne McGee.
