James Lafayette "Jim" Madison Jr. age 87 died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his residence in Columbus Memorial services with U.S. Army Honors, will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Crawford officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Mr. Madison was born on Tuesday, April 30, 1929 in Meridian , MS to the late James Lafayette, and Susie Lowery Madison, Jr. He was active in his church, Fairview Baptist, was a retired carpenter and a U.S. Army and Merchant Marine Veteran. He enjoyed riding and showing horses, and loved spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Martha Beaty Madison.
