Idella Louise Ross
November 15, 1930 — December 9, 2016
December 9, 2016, at The Arrington. Funeral services will be Monday,
December 12, 2016, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Parker
officiating. The interment will be at 3:00 PM at Bolton Cemetery in Bolton,
MS. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at First
Baptist Church. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ross was born November 15, 1930, in Forest, MS, to the late Evan
Bell and Evaleen Parker Allen, Sr. She was a graduate of Forest High School
and the Gilfoy School of Nursing of Jackson, MS. Mrs. Ross has been a
resident of Columbus since 1977 and active member of the First Baptist
Church. She served as children's Sunday School teacher and was a member of
the choir, Women's Missionary Union, and Costumes for Bethlehem Village. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine
Therrell and Jane Sparks, and brothers, Robert Allen and Evan Allen, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Ross, of Columbus, MS, daughters,
Kay Carlisle and her husband Rick of Grand Junction, TN, and Patricia Duffy
and her husband Kevin of Decatur, AL, son, Bobby Ross and his wife Courtney
of Ashville, NC, grandchildren, Ben Carlisle, Jordan Carlisle, Morgan Duffy
Gibson, and Allison Duffy, great grandchildren, Avery Carlisle and Anna
Carlisle, and a great grandchild on the way.
Pallbearers will be Ben Carlisle, Jordan Carlisle, Jerry Stennett, Bilbo Davis,
Bill Brigham, and Tommy Southerland. Honorary pallbearers will be members
of Dot Burdeshaw's Sunday School Class and members of the
Women's Missionary Union.
