Nelson Howard

20, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Graveside
services will be Thursday, December 22, 2016 , at 3:00 PM at Friendship
Cemetery with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Visitation will be Thursday,
December 22, 2016, from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Memorial Funeral Home.
Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Howard was born August 11, 1932, in Demopolis, AL, to the late H.
D. and Martha Lois Jacobs Howard. He was a graduate of S. D. Lee High
School and Mississippi State University. Mr. Howard was a veteran of Korea
serving in the United States Army. He retired as the Assistant Director of
Placement from Mississippi State University after 30 years. Mr. Howard was
a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his brother, Billy Howard, sister, Gwen Hildreth, and
daughter-in-law, Vickie Howard.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Hemphill Howard of Columbus, MS,
sons, Rusty Howard of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Barry Howard (Ramsey) of Columbus,
MS, and grandchildren, John Howard, Ellie Howard, Leah Howard, and Emily
Howard.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church
Building Fund, P.O. Box 829, Columbus, MS, 39703.
