Lily Montgomery
November 10, 1916 — December 25, 2016
25, 2016, at her residence. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December
28, 2016, at 3:00 PM at Bethesda Baptist Church of Crawford with Rev. Allen
Dees officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Bethesday
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at
Bethesda Baptist Church. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Montgomery was born November 10, 1916, in Booneville, MS, to the
late James and Lorene Greene Foster. She retired from United Technologies
after 30 years and was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. Mrs. Montgomery
loved the Lord and enjoyed gardening, canning and music. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Leo Montgomery,
son, Samuel Rogers Montgomery, grandson, John Montgomery, nephew, Leland
Foster, great grandson, Matthew Edwards, great great granddaughter, Sophie
Hughes, and siblings, James Foster, Neal Foster, Babe Foster, Charlie
Foster, Mary Ferina, Lawrence Foster, John Foster, Arthur Foster, Ann Green,
and Jim Foster.
Survivors include her brother, Joseph Wade Foster of Sheffield, AL,
sister, Aileen Foster of Pulaski, TN, grandchildren, Sam Montgomery and his
wife Sheila of Jonesboro, AR, Angela Hensley and her husband Jimmy of
Starkville, MS, special niece, Linda Owings and her husband Bart of
Columbus, MS, 9 Great Grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ben Edwards, Tomme Foster, Kevin Pugh, Leo
