Doyle Gordon Brown
February 20, 1927 — January 5, 2017
2017, at Windsor Place. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 8,
2017, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Gillon
officiating and Rev. Steve Blaylock assisting. A graveside committal
will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with full military
honors. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at
Memorial Funeral Home. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
Mr. Brown was born January 20, 1927, in Hendersonville, NC, to the
late Eugene Hudson and Hazie Maybin Brown. He was a veteran of Korea and
retired from the United States Air Force. Mr. Brown was a member of Fairview
Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In addition to his parents, he
was preceded in death by a son, Doyle Gregory Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Fannie Tinsley Brown of Columbus, MS, daughters,
Andrea Brown Miller and her husband Larry of Paris, TN, Joni Brown Gorman and her husband Patrick of Melbourne, FL, and Robin Brown Betsch and her husband Ron of Hattiesburg, MS, grandchildren, Ashley Schmitt, Laura Copeland, Mason Betsch, Taylor Gorman, Millie Betsch, Michelle Yarbrough, and Maggie Betsch, and 6 great grandchildren.
