LOIS SPRUILL
Mary Lois Wiggins Spruill, age 81, of Columbus , MS , passed away January 16, 2017, at AvonLea Assisted Living in Tupelo , MS . Funeral services will be Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Crawford officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus . Visitation will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Spruill was born July 5, 1935, in Lamar County , AL , to the late Thomas and Lillian Gilreath Wiggins. She received her undergraduate and masters degrees from MUW in education. Mrs. Spruill was a retired school teacher having taught at Franklin Academy , Stokes Beard, and Fairview . She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church . In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spruill was preceded in death by her husband, J. H. Spruill, and sister, Doris Glover.
Survivors include her daughters, Lori Hitt and her husband Bill of Thaxton, MS, and Denise Harper and her husband Russell of London England, and grandchildren, Olivia Estep, Kelsey Harper, and Kyle Harper.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
