Mary Anita Branyon
July 21, 1945 — February 3, 2017
2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Sunday,
February 5, 2017, at 2:30 PM at Piney Grove United Methodist Church with
Rev. James Black officiating. The interment will immediately follow at
Piney Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until the time of the
service at the church. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangments.
Miss Branyon was born July 21, 1945, in Columbus, MS, to the late
Virgil and Mary Grace Leech Branyon. She was a 1963 graduate of New Hope
High School. Miss Branyon was a retired beautician and operated Anita's
Beauty Salon for many years. She was an avid lover of gospel music and was
a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church where she served as choir
leader.
Survivors include numerous cousins and special friends, Lisa Mims, Mary
Vaughn, Mitzi Younger, Candye Stokes, and Peggy Bishop.
Pallbeaers will be Stoney Sharp, Daniel Waldrep, Ashley Sansing, Hays
Sansing, Jeff Hays, James Hays, John Michael Hays, John Barry, Leland
Gilmore, Morri Mims, Dylan Mims, and Robert Mims.
Honorary pallbeaers will be Curtis Younger, Tim Hudson, Mark Stokes, Bo
Holman, Jeff Holman, Joe Holman, Bruce Holman, Tom Younger, Lee Younger,
George Seabrooks, Leslie Baucom, Barney Conn, Dr. Michael Duckworth, and
members of Piney Grove United Methodist Church.
