BILLY SHULL
William Lafayette "Billy" Shull was ushered into the presence of Christ his Savior at his home on February 10, 2017, at the age of 96.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Monday, February 13, at Main Street Presbyterian Church, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at the church, burial with U.S. Air Force Honors will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Billy was born on February 4, 1921, in Columbus, MS, son of Louis and Louise Shull.
After completing high school He, served in the US Military, stationed at Columbus Army Air Base during World War II, and later honorably discharged. He later served for many years as manager of the Big Star Grocery Store on Main Street until his retirement.
He was a lifetime member of Main Street Presbyterian Church, including serving as a Deacon and an Elder. Community involvements included being a member of the Columbus Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Edward Shull, Fred Shull and Louis Shull. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Emily Falkner Shull; children William David Shull (Mary) of Hattiesburg, MS, James Louis Shull (Beth) of Crystal Springs, MS, Robert Lee Shull (Celeste), of Woodstock, GA, and Nancy Shull Jacob (Fred), of Brandon, MS; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
