Elbert Jack Wallace, age 67, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 4, 2017, at his residence. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Gary Shelton officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wallace was born January 23, 1950, in Little Rock, AR, to the late Grady and Mabel Dickens Wallace. He was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and attended Mississippi State University. Mr. Wallace served in the National Guard for a number of years. He was a charter member of the First Independent Methodist Church where he also served on the board of directors. Mr. Wallace was a lifetime member of the NRA, was an avid golfer and former member of Green Oaks Golf Club, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Mississippi State football.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Patsy Mims Wallce of Columbus, MS, sons, Cannon Parkerson and his wife Angela of Memphis, TN, and Brad Parkerson and his wife Kristy of Germantown, TN, sister, Jeanne Ferguson and
her husband Richard of Columbus, MS, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Barry Mims, Mark Bailey, Thomas Ferguson, Austin Bailey, Bryson Bailey, Herb Blakeney, and Dave Fishel. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Barnhill, Dale Beasley, Gordon Broom, Lance Broom, Billy Fowler, Gary Dean Johnson, Dowell King, Aaron Murphy, Charlie Ricks, Jr., Sidney Williams, and members of the Green Oaks Golf Club.
