Oneida Fielder

Oneita Alexander Fielder age 87, died Friday, May 05, 2017 at Montrose Bay Health & Rehabilitation Center in Montrose AL. Services will be held Monday, May 08, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating, burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sunday, May 07, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fielder was born on Thursday, October 10, 1929 in Pickens County, AL to the late James Earlie and Effie May Nabors Alexander. She graduated from S.D. Lee High School in 1949. She married the late Charles T. Fielder in 1960. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbus, and her greatest joy included activities with her Sunday School Class. She was a trained hairdresser, with that training beginning while she was in high school and she continued in that profession until she was in her 40’s. Her second career was as a sales clerk at Sears which she retired from after 25 years of service. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Earlie Alexander, Billy Ray Alexander, and John Ervin Alexander, and her sister Shelby Jean Butler.

She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
