Leroy Langford, age 80, of Columbus, died Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his residence. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Services will Wednesday, May 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jearl Hunley and Rev. Luke Lawson officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The son of the late Sam D. and Bertha Nell Brown Langford, Mr. Langford was born August 2, 1936 in Oktibbeha County, MS. He was a licensed electrician and plumber and had been the owner of Leroy’s Electric and Plumbing for over fifty years. He attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers S.D. Langford and Frank Langford, his stepson Ray Wood and his first wife Marie Thompson Langford.

He is survived by his wife Barbara P. Langford, his son and daughter-in-law Mike and Suzanne Langford and his daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Buck Elder, all of Columbus and his stepdaughter and her husband Lisa and Ricky Shaw of Ethelsville, AL , stepdaughter-in-law Jacki Wood of Columbus, his brothers and sisters-in-law Raymond and Kay Langford of Sparks, NV, Aubrey and JoAnn Langford of Artesia, MS and Travis and Margaret Langford of Hickory, NC and his sisters Edna Bell Cain of Indianapolis, IN and Mary Virginia Tate of Columbus, MS and a sister-in-law Betty Langford of Mayhew, MS. He is also survived by his grandchildren Megan Michelle Langford, Ashley Marie Langford, Jacquelyn Elder Merideth (Andy), Katy Nicole Hulen (Nick), Corey Shaw (Jordan), Kayla Shaw Blair (Paul), Anna Wood and Georgia Wood and great-grandchildren Addison Merideth and Kasen Hulen.

Pallbearers will be Sidney Thompson, Kenny Thompson, David Langford, Lamar Harper, Nick Hulen, Andy Merideth, Luke Tripplett and Josh King.
