FRANCES CARTER
Mildred Frances Crimm Carter “also lovingly known as Aunt Dutchie”, age 95, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Trinity Healthcare Center in Columbus. Services will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating, burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Lamar County, AL. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carter was born on Wednesday, January 11, 1922 in Fernbank, AL to the late John F. and Sara Mildred Brewer Crimm, and raised in Choctaw County, Mississippi. She and her late husband Joseph Edwin “Eddie” Carter, moved several times during their marriage, but settled in Columbus in 1974. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Columbus for many years, where she enjoyed working with the Helping Hands Ministry. She was a homemaker and also a member of the North Haven Woods Garden Club.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, John Crimm, Jr., Elizabeth Dodd, Betty Dodd, and Evelyn Mitchell.
