Dorice S. "Buddy" Britt

Dorice S. “Buddy” Britt, age 76, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, MS. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home.

The son of the late Timothy D. and Flo Vinnie Murphy Britt, Mr. Britt was born September 15, 1940 in Lowndes County, MS. He was a welder by trade and was self-employed for a time, and later he worked for Phillips Construction.  He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Liberty, AL.

Mr. Britt is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Pamela and Kenny Hayes of Lamar, MS; Regina Hester and Melissa Britt, both of Columbus and Kathy “Sissy” and Johnny Allen of Sulligent, AL and his son and daughter -in-law Samuel “Bubba” and Patricia Britt  of Columbus. He is also survived by his sisters and brother-in-law Debbie and Charles Ray Hall of Caledonia, MS and Dean Nickel of Tupelo, MS. Additionally, he is survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
