Elizabeth C. Pitts age 74 died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at her residence in Columbus, MS. Services will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 4:30 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Bramlett officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Entombment will be held at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 2, 2017 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with visitation from 12:30 until service time.

Elizabeth was born on Wednesday, May 19, 1943 in Luxora, Arkansas to the late Frank Lee and Mary Elizabeth Chism. She was the loving wife of James “Jim” Pitts and the cherished mother of two daughters, Lisa Rouleau, (J. P. Rouleau II), of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jami Johnson, (Steven Johnson) of Arcadia, OK. Her three grandchildren, Colton J. Rouleau, Laten B. Johnson, and Ava Elizabeth Johnson, were the light of her life. “Mamaw” loved to laugh and be silly with them. She had a fun-loving nature and had many dear friends who often referred to her as their “sweet precious Liz”. To know Liz was to love her. Elizabeth truly loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing golf with her husband. She worked for Trustmark Bank in Columbus for many years where she retired as Assistant Vice President. She lived a life full of love. She showed kindness and grace to everyone. Our precious Liz has been called home. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alene Hicks and Helen Ruth Sporeleder, and brothers, Lee, Charles, and Billy James Chism.

Elizabeth was the youngest of 15 children, her surviving siblings are sisters;
