Juanita Patrick Eubanks, age 92, ended life’s journey peacefully on June 9, 2017. She is survived by sons William Hunter Eubanks III, MD (Becky) of Tampa, Florida and Kenneth Brian Eubanks of Tampa, Florida; daughter Dianne Eubanks Hyland (Chris) of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren Amanda Eubanks Sefcik, DVM (Bryan) of Langley, BC, Canada and Barrett Hunter Eubanks, MD, of Orlando, Florida; and two great grandchildren, Caroline Anne Sefcik, and Charlotte Allison Sefcik, both of Langley, BC, Canada. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 67 years, William Hunter Eubanks, Jr., and by her parents, Claude and Vernice Patrick.

Juanita was born in Alabama but moved to Columbus, Mississippi during her high school years where she met and married the love of her life, Hunter, in 1944. They later settled in Starkville, Mississippi, where they raised their children, and became part of the Mississippi State community for 40 years. These were the years when Juanita pursued all her passions. She sewed, upholstered, gardened, cooked, decorated and entertained. She had a true joy for life, family and friends. As frequently as she could, she spent time in Gulf Shores, Alabama - one of her favorite places on earth. In 1997 they moved to Tampa, Florida to be near family. Juanita was extremely loving and dedicated to her family. Her granddaughter, Amanda Sefcik, once wrote a poem dedicated to her which aptly describes her: “You love so fully, give of yourself so unselfishly. You care so tenderly, hug so tightly. You help those who are hurting, nurture those who need you. You define wonderful, embody grace and elegance. You are kind and gentle, teach so thoroughly. Everything you have been, everything you are, everything you will be leaves a sweet impression on those who know you. You love and are loved.”

Visitation will be at 1 :00 PM  on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a 2:00 PM graveside service at the Eubanks family plot in Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Miller officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.
