Steven Payne Donaldson passed away at home unexpectedly on Saturday, July 15, 2017. He was 57 years old. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 5, 1960. He graduated from Robert S. Caldwell High School in Columbus, MS in 1979. Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles Thaddeus Hodges and Azzie Lee (Lewis) Hodges of Mathiston, MS and Joseph Forney Donaldson and Myrtle Irene (Shipman) Donaldson of Haleyville, AL and his father Harold William "Buck" Donaldson of Columbus, MS.

He is survived by his mother Lois Donaldson of Columbus, MS, sister Beverly Hammett (Donnie) of Starkville, MS, brother Paul Donaldson of Madison, MS, sister Cindy Starkey (Paul) of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, brother Patrick Donaldson (Arlen) of Frisco, TX and a son Joshua Keith Donaldson of Roanoke, VA along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Donaldson was a past member of the local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union (now located in Vicksburg, MS) and a current member of the Columbus #5 F & AM Masonic Lodge of Columbus, MS. He was a member of the former Broadacres United Methodist Church in Columbus, MS .

The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, July 19 from 9 -10 AM at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be from 10 - 11 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hal Selby of Adaton Baptist Church in Starkville, MS officiating. Burial will follow at Sapa Cemetery in Eupora, MS with Masonic Rites.

Pallbearers will be: Donnie Hammett, Shannon Hammett, Todd Pedersen, Kyle Hindeman, Paul Donaldson and Andrew Donaldson. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations can be made to: the American Heart Association, 4830 McWillie Circle, Jackson, MS 39206
