Kenneth Joesph Yearby

Kenneth Joseph "Nick" Yearby Sr., age 63, died Friday, August 11, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Visitation will be held Thursday August 17, 2017 from 6 until 8 at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.

Nick was born Thursday, May 13, 1954 in Lowndes County, GA to the late Arnie Deal and Joann Knight Yearby. He received a Liver transplant in December 2015. He was humbled by the life changing experience and proud of the way his family pulled together and cared for him. Kenneth himself was an organ donor and now gives the opportunity of living to others. He is indeed our hero. He was a member of the NWA Hunting club, Shriners, and Big Bud Hunting Club, all of which  organizations were an integral part of his life.

Survivors include his wife - Mary Bates Yearby, Columbus, MS, his daughters Mary Ann Gray (Mark), Fultondale, AL

and Angela Beth Brower, WI; his sons Kenneth Joseph "Shorty" Yearby, Jr. (Adene), Columbus, MS, Lt. Col. Willliam L. Blakey (Jinnea), Tacoma, WA and Joe Yearby (Christi), Columbus, MS; his brothers Sam Yearby, Chicago, IL and

Eric Yearby, Texas City, TX, fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
