Mrs. Jordan was born November 2, 1934 in Burnsville, Mississippi to the late Aubrey Burton and Florence Bera Shackleford Kennedy. She graduated from Tishomingo High School in 1952 as salutatorian of her class.

She loved her family, and she loved the Lord. She was a homemaker who raised three sons while her husband, Herbert, served as a pilot in the Air Force, often gone for months at a time. Upon his retirement in 1973 they settled in Columbus, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there for many years. She also was a “pink lady” volunteer at Baptist Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a skilled seamstress and a wonderful cook. She was especially famous for her chocolate chip cookies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Herbert Ezekiel “Sonny” Jordan, her son Timothy Brian Jordan, and her sister Maurine Kennedy Lambert. She is survived by sons Joe Jordan (Marilyn) of Madison, Mississippi, John Jordan (Elizabeth) of Richmond, Texas, granddaughter Chloe Nichole Jordan and grandsons Samuel Douglas Jordan and Benjamin Barnett Jordan.

The family wishes to thank the staffs at The Arrington Assisted Living, where she resided for 11 years, and The Windsor Place Nursing Home, where she spent her final days. <iframe id="tukios_player_512x330" allowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="330" scrolling="no" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/Y4TCT5JQNLYMZ6BL" width="512"></iframe>
