BETTYE LOFTIS
Bettye Browning Loftis age 89, died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at her residence in Caledonia. Services will be held Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Caledonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Charity Gordon and Rev. Don Harding officiating, burial will follow at Egger Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home Saturday September 23, 2017 from 5:00 PM til 9:00 PM.
Mrs. Loftis was born on Monday, July 30, 1928 in Caledonia, MS to the late Allan C. and Mary Lee Cullom Browning.
She was a member of Caledonia United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. She also taught Sunday School and was the adult and family ministries coordinator. She was a retired rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. For over 30 years Mrs. Loftis was a volunteer with the Triple “C” 4-H Club and served on many state level committees. She was also involved with the “TOPS” for 20 plus years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Allan Junkin and her brothers Robert Browning and Carter Browning.
