Wylodine Neyman Andrews, age 98, of Columbus, MS
, passed away October
10, 2017, at her residence. Funeral services will be Friday, October 13, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel on College St.
with Rev. Tom Bryson officiating. The interment will immediately follow at
Friendship Cemetery
. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Andrews was born November 2, 1918, in Columbus, MS
, to the late
Victor Clifford Neyman, Sr. and Wylodine Hill Neyman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, James Falkner "Jimmie" Andrews, and her younger brother, V. C. "Buddy" Neyman, Jr. Mrs. Andrews is survived by her daughter and best friend Meredith Andrews Barron (John) of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, James Robinson of Columbus, MS, Heather Evans (Bennett) of Starkville, MS, and Christian Heinkel of Columbus, MS. She also had four granddaughters, Caitlin Dampier (Mike) of Holland, MI, Adaline Evans of Starkville, MS
, Sophia Heinkel of Columbus, MS, and Nadia Heinkel of Columbus, MS
. She will be remembered by
numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Andrews was a 1936 graduate of S. D. Lee High School in
Columbus
and attended Mississippi State College for Women (MSCW). Along with her husband, she owned and managed the 45 Package Store. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbus, and was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Those that knew her would say that Wylodine was fiercely devoted to her family. Relatives could always count on her for love, protection, and support. She enjoyed flowers, birdwatching, and reading. A favorite pastime was riding around Southside Columbus reminiscing about earlier times. Late in life, Mrs. Andrews enjoyed the company of her friends and family at home, along with her dog Petey.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Tom Wolford, Web Gholson, Joey Hudnall, Todd Gale, Roderick Sanders, and Key Blair. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
